Chris Fiol (they/them) is a Madison-based tuba player and recent graduate of the University of Wisconsin - Madison.
Chris is an active performer/freelancer in Southern Wisconsin, playing in various brass ensembles like the Milwaukee Festival Brass, Madison Brass Band, Blessed Brass choir, and other chamber groups. They also have orchestral experience performing with the Madison Community Orchestra, UW Madison Symphony Orchestra, and as a substitute in the Wisconsin Symphony Youth Orchestras. When they are not performing or rehearsing, they are active in arranging and transcribing music for low brass, marching band, and more. They have also volunteered with various music organizations. Previous volunteer work includes working with groups like International Jazz Day, Diversify the Stand, The Tuba-Euphonium Social Justice Initiative, and the International Tuba-Euphonium Association. Chris began their undergraduate studies at James Madison University and completed their degree at the University of North Carolina at Greensboro. They studied with Kevin Stees and Justin Worley and graduated with a Bachelor's Degree in Instrumental Music performance. They just recently graduated with Master’s Degree in Tuba Performance at the University of Wisconsin - Madison and studied with Tom Curry. |
